Confirel : after China, the United States

     In September, the Confirel export team hosted a stand in Nanning, in the autonomous region of Guangxi in southern China, during the 20th edition of Caexpo, the China-Asean exhibition, in which 2,000 companies participated.

In November, it is in the United States, more precisely in Long Beach in California, that the export team presents the flagships of our “authentic Khmer products”.

The ” Cambodia Business Expo “, organized by the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce of Cambodia, opened the same day as the kingdom’s Independence Day, which was marked in Cambodia by an impressive parade. Around a hundred of exporting companies from Cambodia took part, showcasing their products to consumers and potential investors.

The event, titled “SHOWCASE! 2023,” has the ultimate goal of providing a platform to market Cambodian products to potential U.S. buyers and enable the creation of favorable business relationships between individual businesses in the two countries, according to the CCCC website. Furthermore, Cambodians participating in the event are also able to better understand and potentially tap the US market potential for their products and investment opportunities for the future, the organizer noted.

Note that Long Beach and its region have a large population of Cambodian origin: nearly 20,000 Khmero-Americans residing in Long Beach and there are many more in surrounding towns, including Cerritos, Signal Hill and Bellflower. The 2020 census reported approximately 87,000 Cambodians statewide in California.
